In the office of Gujarat University, there are only twenty four science colleges of which 3 of them are government-run, 6 are grant-in-aid and the remaining self-aided, in and around the city of Ahmedabad & Gandhinagar. Altogether there are about 7,800 admission seats available across these institutional colleges.
Gujarat University has announced the very final merit list of 2017 2018 academic year for Bachelor of commerce and science admissions in its official website www.gujaratuniversity.ac.in. The mock allotment result is scheduled to get released on June 24, 2017. The candidates can opt the wishing alterations in their choices between June 25 and 28. The University will announce as the 1st allotment list on 1st July 2017.
According to the reports revealed about 40,504 candidates have made registration for admission to BCom courses, of which 39,098 applicants stand in the merit list. Nearly 70% seats reserved for the candidates who qualified the exam from the schools of Ahmedabad & Gandhinagar districts. Previous year, close to 10,498 students applied for registration for bachelors of arts admissions in Gujarat University from which about 10,155 candidates were comprised in the provisional merit list.
For this AY 2017-2018 the authorities of Gujarat University confirmed to scrap the “carry-forward system” under which students were awared to succeeding semester although they had failed across all the subjects in the earlier semester.
