2 days after the Council of Higher Secondary Education aka CHSE published the timetable for the Plus 2 annual exam which is planned to start from 6th March, 2018, students and staff on Saturday expressed their annoyance over the time-table particularly for Botany & Zoology papers.
The candidates claimed that previous Botany & Zoology examinations were held individually on various days. The examinees were given 2 hours each for both the subjects. However, the CHSE has planned to allot only 3 hours for both the subjects by joining them as 1 paper as Biology and to conduct them on the same day.
“It is hard for us to write 4 long questions in 3 hours in Biology, which is a tough subject. Because Botany & Zoology aid us to prepare for the Medical Entrance Examination, the state govt. must alter the exam pattern and provide us justice,” told a Plus 2 student of Anchalika Science College in Khetriyabarapur of Ganjam dist.
Alloting 1.30 hours each for difficult papers like Zoology & Botany is not good as it has more topics to cover. Also the students cannot cover all theq questions within the given period.
According to the timetable released by the CHSE on Thursday, the Biology exam of Botany & Zoology papers combined will be held on 23rd March, 2018. Whereas the Botany A Section will be conducted from 10 AM to 11.30 AM whereas the B Section Zoology will be conducted between 11.30 AM & 1 PM afternoon.
About 100 +2 students gave demonstration in front of the CHSE office in Bhubaneswar this morning, protesting the examination time.
